Weight input on Motra is a manual process. For any exercise, Motra remembers the weight you used last time and uses that historical value when you do the exercise next time. Here are two methods to utilize this functionality:
Manual Adjustment: Use the "Rest" Dropdown Setting
Motra enables you to manually access weights and repetitions from the last session directly in the workout scoreboard:
Open the Motra app on your device.
Go to the workout you want to start.
Find the column labeled "Rest" on the workout screen.
Tap the dropdown in the "Rest" column and set it to "Previous". This will display the most recent weights and repetitions used for that exercise.
Automatic Updates: Enable Template Auto-Updates
For users following templates, Motra can automatically carry over the weights and repetitions used in past sessions:
Open the Motra app.
Select frequently used workout templates.
Access the "settings" for the chosen template.
Activate Template Auto-Updates to pre-fill exercises with values from your last session.
x2 Weight
Exercises marked with "x2" are performed with a weight on each side of the body, such as Bicep Curls. Log the weight of a single side when doing an "x2" exercise.
For example, if you are performing Bicep Curls with 20 lbs dumbbells in each hand, you would log 20 lbs, as bicep curls are denoted with "x2" in the weight field.
Barbell Exercises
For barbell exercises, log the total weight you are lifting, including the bar and all the plates.
For example, if you are lifting 20 lbs on each side of a 45 lbs barbell, you would log it as 20 + 20 + 45, or 85 lbs.
There are several variations when it comes to barbell weight. These are the most common types of barbells you will see in the gym.
Bar Name | Bar Weight (Lbs) | Bar Weight (Kg) |
Standard Bar | 45 Lbs | 20 Kg |
Olympic Bar | 45 Lbs | 20 Kg |
Trap Bar | 45-50 Lbs | 20-23 Kg |
Straight Curl Bar | 25 Lbs | 11 Kg |
EZ Curl Bar | 15 Lbs | 7 Kg |
Bodyweight (BW)
If you do an exercise with no external weight, such as bodyweight lunges or bodyweight push-ups, log it as "BW" (Bodyweight).
Other Weighted Exercises
For exercises involving equipment that are neither barbell exercises nor marked as x2, log the weight as displayed on the equipment.
