Minimum Rep Threshold

Motra has a 3-rep minimum to prevent false detections. Lowering this may cause errors but can be adjusted in Settings if needed.

Updated over a month ago

Motra's minimum rep threshold is the number of reps you must complete before auto-detection registers a set. By default, Motra has a minimum rep threshold of 3 reps. This means you must perform at least 3 reps of any given exercise for Motra to detect it.

We strongly recommend maintaining the minimum rep threshold at 3. Reducing this value will increase errors in exercise auto-detection.

This threshold minimizes accidental exercise detection. Common activities, such as drinking from a water bottle or bending over, can be mistaken for exercises like bicep curls or dumbbell deadlifts. To prevent this, Motra has set a minimum rep threshold.

How to Change the Minimum Rep Threshold

If you are training in low-rep ranges (e.g., 1 Rep Max) and want to track sets with 1 or 2 reps, you can change this minimum rep threshold by:

  1. Navigate to "Settings > Workout Settings > Auto-Detection Control."

  2. Find "Minimum Reps" and change the rep count as desired.

However, please be aware that setting a threshold below 3 will significantly increase erroneous detections.
