Achievements & Streaks

Motra helps you stay consistent and celebrate milestones with two built-in motivation systems: weekly streaks and achievements. Streaks track your week-to-week consistency, while achievements recognize key milestones like personal records, workout counts, and long-running streaks.

Weekly Streaks

Your weekly streak counts how many consecutive weeks you have met your workout goal. It is displayed in the My Week card on the main Workout tab, showing your current streak in weeks alongside a day-by-day view of the current week.

What counts toward your streak

Motra supports three different streak types. You choose which one to track:

Streak Type

What It Measures

Default Goal

Workout Time

Total minutes spent working out during the week

100 minutes

Workouts

Number of workouts completed during the week

3 workouts

Total Volume

Total weight lifted (volume) during the week

50,000 lbs/kg

  • Workout Time adds up the active duration of every workout you complete in a given week.

  • Workouts simply counts the number of workouts you finish.

  • Total Volume sums the total weight multiplied by reps across all sets in the week.

Your week starts on the day you have configured in Settings > Personalize > Start Week On.

How the streak is maintained

  • If you meet your weekly goal, your streak count increases by one at the end of the week.

  • If you miss your goal for a week, your streak resets to zero.

  • Your current streak count (in weeks) is shown in the My Week card with a bolt icon, along with a circular progress ring showing how far along you are toward this week's goal.

External workouts

For the Workout Time and Workouts streak types, you can choose to include external workouts (workouts imported from Apple Health or other sources). When enabled, those workouts count toward your weekly goal just like workouts logged directly in Motra. The Total Volume streak type does not support external workouts since volume data is only available for Motra-tracked strength workouts.

How to View Your Streaks

On the Workout tab

  1. Open the Motra app.

  2. Go to the Workout tab (the default home screen).

  3. Look for the My Week card near the top. It shows:

    • A row of circles for each day of the week, filled in for days you worked out.

    • Your current streak in weeks (e.g., "12 Weeks").

    • A progress ring showing your progress toward this week's goal (e.g., "75 / 100 Minutes").

  4. Tap the My Week card to open the full Calendar view, where you can see your workout history across months.

On your Lock Screen or Home Screen

Motra provides several widgets that display streak information. See our Widgets and Live Activity article for a full list, but the most relevant are:

  • Weekly Progress (Home Screen, Small/Medium) — shows a circular progress ring for your streak goal and a daily bar chart.

  • Monthly Progress (Home Screen, Small/Medium) — shows your current streak count, weekly goal progress, and a monthly calendar highlighting workout days.

  • Weekly Workout Minutes (Lock Screen, Rectangular) — shows your streak progress (e.g., "45/100 min This Week") with dots for each day.

  • Weekly Workout Minutes (Lock Screen, Circular) — a circular progress ring around the Motra logo.

Customizing Your Weekly Streak Goal

You can change your streak type, goal threshold, and whether external workouts count at any time.

  1. Open the Motra app and go to Settings (gear icon).

  2. Scroll to the Personalize section.

  3. Tap Weekly Streak. You can also reach this from Settings > Personalize > Your Fitness Profile > Weekly Streak.

  4. Adjust the following:

    • Streak Type — choose between Workout Time, Workouts, or Total Volume.

    • Weekly Goal — set the target value for your chosen type. For Workout Time, you pick a duration using a time picker. For Workouts, you enter a number. For Total Volume, you enter a weight value and choose between kg and lbs.

    • Include External Workouts — toggle this on to count workouts from Apple Health and other sources (available for Workout Time and Workouts types only).

  5. Tap Done in the top-right corner to save your changes.

Note: Changes apply to the current week and all future weeks. They do not apply retroactively to past weeks.

Achievements

Achievements are milestone banners that appear when you hit notable moments in your fitness journey. They are shown in two places:

  • Workout Save Summary — immediately after you save a workout, achievement banners appear at the top of the summary page.

  • Workout Detail View — when viewing a past workout that earned achievements, the banners are displayed on the workout detail page.

  • Feed — when browsing the social feed, workouts with achievements display the corresponding banners on the feed card.

Achievement Categories

Motra tracks three categories of achievements:

These are awarded when you set a new personal best during a workout:

Monthly Progress View

In addition to the weekly streak, Motra offers a Monthly Progress widget that gives you a broader view of your training consistency. It displays:

  • Your current week streak count and progress toward this week's goal.

  • A monthly calendar that highlights the days you worked out, distinguishing between Motra workouts and external workouts.

This is available as a Home Screen widget in Small and Medium sizes. See the Widgets and Live Activity article for setup instructions.

Streak Notifications

Motra may send you notifications related to your weekly streak:

  • Streak progress — after a workout is saved and your streak progresses, you will receive a notification confirming the update. These updates also sync to your widgets automatically so they reflect your latest progress.

  • Streak reminder — if you haven't yet met your weekly goal, Motra will send you a reminder one day before your week resets, giving you a chance to complete your goal and keep your streak alive.

Tips for Maintaining Your Streak

  • Set a realistic goal. Start with a target you can hit consistently, such as 3 workouts per week or 100 minutes. You can always increase it later.

  • Include external workouts if you do activities outside of Motra (running, cycling, yoga) so those sessions count toward your streak.

  • Add a streak widget to your Home Screen or Lock Screen for a daily visual reminder of your progress.

  • Check your week view on the Workout tab to see which days you have already trained and plan the rest of your week accordingly.
